My eighteen year old son has been working out with Melvin for two years now. Melvin is extremely knowledgeable and a true professional, but even more importantly than that he is a really good guy.
He truly cares about the people he trains and I would put his training and conditioning knowledge up against anyone’s. He has played a big role the past two years in preparing my son Cole to play college basketball.
This fall will be Cole’s freshman year and the plan is to train with Melvin right up until he leaves for college and then to train with Melvin each summer when he is home from college. Melvin has helped him get bigger, stronger and quicker all at the same time.
Just a few weeks ago Melvin reached out to Cole when he heard about Cole’s high ankle sprain. He told Cole he wanted to help him at least be able to walk onto the court for his state championship game which was a week away.
He worked on Cole’s ankle for six straight days including in Macon the morning of the State Championship game. The day before the game and a week after the injury, during Cole’s follow-up visit with the doctor, she said she “could not believe” how much he had improved. That of course was thanks to Melvin!
It allowed her to move him from a boot to a brace. During the initial visit the doctor told Cole it would be “three or four weeks before he could do anything”, but thanks to Melvin we now have what will be lifelong memories of Cole leading his team out onto the court prior to the State Championship game and then being put in the game to run the last twenty seconds or so off the clock and seal the win in the State Championship.
Photo is of Melvin and Cole on the court right after the State Championship. Melvin is the best!
